WEEK EIGHT RESULTS

Let me start this post with a hearty “YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!!” shout out. Another week with 5.1 points per person (and that is even with one missing report). That is fantastic; plus we had a phenomenal week for weight loss (and I realize part of that is due to a couple weeks of weight loss being reported in one week). As a group we appear to be on track to blowing away the best results achieved in this competition in the last year plus. At this time (Friday night 3/5/2010) we have 3 weeks left; so let’s keep up the good work and see if we can take the “Gold Medal Spot” on the Weight Loss/Healthy Living Challenge Podium.

WEEK SEVEN RESULTS

Hello everybody. Week 7 results are in and we all did another great job. 5.1 Points per Person last week. That is exactly the same score we had in week 6 (I don’t think we have ever done that in the past; given that we were slightly down in pounds lost for the week I think that shows the great commitment you all are making to getting points through exercise). Keep up the good work.

WEEK SIX RESULTS

Week 6 is in the book and we have reached the half way point (technically it is Thursday night and almost the end of week 7 but I digress). We did a good job this past week and are in position to, with a strong second half, have the best performance to date of any contest. You will notice from past data that the second half trend is downward in terms of Points per Person per Week (shifting from scores in the 5 PpPpW to 4 and even 3 PpPpW). If we can maintain the commitment to working out I think we can set the new mark for overall competition performance.

I have included a half way point total for all competitors so you can see how the competition is stacking up.

WEEK FOUR RESULTS ARE IN

Happy Super Bowl everybody! Week 4 results are posted below with updated plots. I will update the data once everyone has reported week 4 results. Congratulations to Sue or Drew Boxrud one of them answered last weeks inagural trivia question correctly (not sure who so please let me know who gets credited with the correct answer).

I have included one more plot that shows the total weight we have lost as a group by week. We are a third of the way through the competition and we've had a bit of a downward trend (which has been typical in past competitions as well so no worries) so lets see if we can refocus and gear up to make a strong second half push.

LIKE A BOLT FROM THE BLUE; WEEK THREE RESULTS HAVE ARRIVED!

Hello everybody! We are officially one quarter of the way through the competition. I have included updated results and charts for week 3. Additionally, I have added a new section on health trivia. Every week a question is included the first person (and only the first person) to answer correctly by posting a comment to the blog will get $1 off their entry fee to this fitness competition. Good luck and let's see who the "Health Knowledge Smarty Pants" are.

For Week 3 we averaged 5.8 points per person. That is down 9.6% compared to Week 2; however, that score is better than 2 of the last 3 competitions. Historically Weeks 4 and 5 have had pretty substantial drop offs as we near the mid-point of the competition. Let's see if we can stop the points slide and get our average back up to at least 6 points per person.

Week 3 Results:
John - 9
Dan - 9
Drew - 8
Melissa E. - 8
Mary - 7
Tom - 7
Sue - 7
Jon - 7
Karen - 7
Don - 6
Christel - 6
Joe - 4
Laura - 4
Mary Jo - 4
Heidi - 4
Nancy - 3 (Owes $1.00)
Melissa B. - 2 (Owes $2.50)
Linda - 2 (Owes $2.50)

Week 3 Health Trivia Question:
This week is a two part question; you must get BOTH answers correct to get credit.

According to the USDA; how many cups of vegetables should men ages 19 to 50 consume daily? How many cups of vegetables should women ages 19 to 50 consume daily?
