Week 7 Update

So, we hit double digits - but it was in the wrong direction. We gained 10 pounds as a group! We have a lot to make up for this week.

RULES

DURATION:

This competition officially starts Thursday, October 1st. At this time, participants must weigh in and keep track of their weight in order to calculate percentage loss at the end of the competition period. Percentages may be asked throughout the competition in order to provide updates. The competition ends Wednesday, December 23rd (exactly 12 weeks from the start and just in time for Christmas/New Year).

WEIGH-IN:

As previously mentioned, the first weigh-in will be October 1st. You will be required to weigh in (using the same scale) every week through the end of the competition period.

Note: Be sure to keep track of your original starting weight in order to figure out your precentage weight loss.

POINTS:

Weight loss/gain

Receive 1 point for each pound lost during the current week or lose 1 point for each pound gained during the current week (calculate weight loss and gains in full pounds – fractions do not count).

Work out

Receive 1 point daily for 30 minutes or more of consecutive exercise, or 10,000 steps (pedometer required).

Exercise is defined as: training or improvement of physical health above and beyond normal daily activities.

This competition is strongly based on integrity and each person may decide what “normal daily activities” means to them.

WEEKLY($) PAY IN:

The three people with the lowest weekly totals are required to pay. The person with the lowest weekly points pays $3.00, second lowest $2.00, and the third lowest pays $1.00.

Note: Please report your weekly points in a timely manner. Points reported after Friday will not be eligable for bonus bucks.

If you are out of town or unable to weigh-in, please call or email with just your exercise points for that week and weight loss/gain points will carry over to the following week.

POT:

Each person pays a $15 entry fee (estimating 10 people = $150).

Weekly ($) pay in multiplied by 12 weeks = $72.

Bonus bucks ($5) will be awarded to the highest point earner each week. (This will be excluded from 8-week "Sprints" and requires 10 or more participants.)

The remaining pot will be split 50/50 between highest % weight loss and most total weekly points.
