OVERVIEW

Each person pays a $15 entry fee.

Points are awarded weekly; the people with the three lowest point totals pay a designated amount. The person with the highest weekly points will earn a designated amount.

The remaining ($$$) pot will be split 50/50 between highest % weight loss and most total weekly points received by the end of the competition.

This competition is designed to create awareness and support for friends and family to lose weight in 2015 and beyond.

Week 8 Results

Congratulations, Josh Hodney!


With only one point more than his wife, Josh squeaked by to win both the highest point total and most % weight loss with a total of 6.37%. It was a tight race with only 4 points separating the top 5 participants. Dan had a strong finish, but unfortunately this was an 8 week competition instead of the original 12 weeks - like most of our previous competitions. Krissy and Nita did an amazing job. They exercised nearly every day and lost a few lbs along way. Jon lead most of the competition but imploded the last couple of weeks, actually gaining in week 7. Congratulations Josh, you earned it!!!

Week 6 Results

Great week, Dan! Dan had a huge week last week and pulled into a close 5th place.

As you can see, it is still a really tight compitition. There are only two reporting weeks left and we have 5 people within 2 points of the lead. It apears Krissy and Nita are battling for the overall % weight loss portion. Good luck!

Week 4 Results

Well, we're back on the right side of weight loss/gain. We lost a total of 11 pounds this week, thanks mostly to Jenny and Dan B. Let's keep exercising and don't let those goodies get the best of you. Remember, it never tastes as good as skinny feels.

Week 3 Results

This may have been the worst week in Weigh08 history. We actually gained a net 8lbs as a group. Everyone seems to be exercising well but eating habits need to change in order to see any significant weight loss. WE CAN DO IT!!! LET'S GO!!!


P.S. Even if you are not near the top, your goal should be to beat the person above you. If everyone does that we'll all succeed.

2012 Fall Sprint

Welcome to fall. The summer is nearly over and hopefully you've had a chance to experience all that summer has to offer. For many of us, that includes BBQs, family gatherings and trips to the cabin - all of which typically include gorging on your favoite foods, deserts and cocktails. I for one have done more eating than exercising this summer and feel it's time for a little Weight08 motivation.

The next round of Weight08 will begin Friday, September 7th. This is both the official weigh-in date and first day to earn exercise points. Below are a couple of changes implimented during the previous round:
  1. Shortened the timeframe from 12 to 8 weeks. (The competition period will run September 7th - November 2nd.) This will also be known as a "Sprint".
  2. More ways to earn - $5 will be awarded to the top point earner each week. If there is a tie, that money will carry over to the following week and the person with the highest two-week total will earn both. (You must report your points by Sunday to be eligible for these bonus bucks.)
Please let me know by EOD Friday, September 7th if you are interested in participaing. As always, please feel free to invite friends, family and co-workers. The more people around you focused on eating better and exercising the better you'll do.
