Time to bag up some of those unwanted lbs and jump start your 2016 New Year resolutions!

WEEK 2 RESULTS
Week 2 Update:
There is a simple formula for weight loss, burn more calories than you consume. It's truly that easy! What's not easy is making the right choices or tracking EVERYTHING you consume. I will be the first to admit, it's a bit daunting. This will not only show you what each item you consume costs in terms of calories, but it also makes you more accountable to yourself. There are many great websites out there but the one I use is www.myfitnesspal.com.
Week 2 Owes Total Pts Total Owes
Nicole 11 $0.00 17 $1.00
Tom S. 7 $0.00 15 $0.00
Dan 4 $0.00 4 $2.50
Jon S. 3 $0.34 14 $0.34
Chris 3 $0.33 12 $0.33
Tim 3 $0.33 10 $0.33
Mary 2 $2.00 2 $4.50
Steve 0 $3.00 9 $3.00
Note: PLEASE REPORT YOUR POINTS AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE ON SUNDAY.
P.S. Just because 30 minutes is the minimum time needed to earn points doesn't mean you can't go beyond that to help increase your calorie burn.

WEEK 1 RESULTS
Week 1 Results:
Jon - 11 points
Steve - 9 points
Chris - 9 points
Tom - 8 points
Tim - 7 points
Nicole - 6 points (owes $1.00)
Dan - 0 points (owes $2.50)
Mary - 0 points (owes $2.50)
I believe Dan and Mary were unable to access the group page on Facebook and weren't aware of the website, www.weight08.blogspot.com. Therefore, they were not fully aware of the rules and hence, didn't participate the first week. To keep things fair and competitive, I am making an executive decision to throw out the lowest point week for each person. Your total points will be based on your best 9 weeks of this 10-week competition. Total % weight loss will still be based on your starting weight.
TIP: www.myfitnesspal.com is a great website for tracking calories and exercise. It helps keep you on track and accountable for what you put in your mouth. (Note: Track everything. It's a bit daunting at first, and tedious, but it works!
Please add one weight loss or exercise tip in the comments section. We can all benefit from each other's knowledge and experiences.

2015 Summer Slim Down
Join the 2015 Summer Slim Down competition designed to help you and your friends lose weight before bikini season starts. Nicole John got a jump on it last year winning the "2014 Holiday Sprint" and getting into pristine shape before her cruise. Way to go, Nicole!
This will be a 10-week competition with "bonus bucks" in play as long as we get ten or more participants. Please pass this along to all friends and family and see if we can make this the biggest competition yet.
As always, rules, updates and motivational messages are available on www.weight08.blogspot.com.
Please call, text, email or message me if you are interested.

Week 8 Results - Final
A big CONGRATULATIONS! goes out to Nicole for kicking butt in her first Weight08 weight loss competition. She started out strong and kept the momentum throughout the entire 8 weeks surpassing all of her personal goals. WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!
I apologize for the long wait, there were some discrepancies* at the polls but we got it all sorted out and here are the official results:
Nicole – 68 Points
Chris – 63 Points
Dan – 63 Points
John – 55 Points
Tom – 54 Points
Jon – 52 Points
Nancy – 41 Points
Nicole also achieved the highest % weight loss with 10% in only 8 weeks! That is absolutely amazing! Her husband, Chris wasn’t far behind with an outstanding 8.6%. Needless to say, they are ready for their cruise, departing January 24th.
Because of the delay, I am going to send Nicole her check for $117.75, which is $153.00 (minus) the total owed between she and Chris. Please review the totals below and send me a check ASAP for your amount.
Amount owed:
Dan - $22.00
Nancy – $30.00
John - $20.58
Jon - $22.59
Tom - $22.58
Congratulations to all of you. This was a tough time of year with all of the holidays, vacations and business travel but hopefully this little competition helped keep you focused and aware.
Until next time, peace out!

John Ellis - 6 points
Nancy Boxrud - 4 points (owes $1.50)

It's been a tough couple of weeks and we've got 3 days left to hit it hard, and I'm not talking about drinking on New Year's Eve. I'm talking about exercise and eating well. Let's all take the first steps to healthier living before entering the new year.
And... here's where we're at for total points:
Nicole - 60 points
Dan - 54 points
Chris - 53 points
Jon - 51 points
John - 50 points
Tom - 47 points
Nancy - 36 points
It's going to take a lot for anyone to catch Nicole, she has been motivated throughout this competition and looks to be the clear winner going into the final week. Good luck everyone!
P.S. I'm thinking of a new year's resolution that will motivate me throughout the year. Here's what I've come up with. I'm thinking about working out 130 hours in 2015. That's equivalent to 5, 30 minute workouts per week for 52 weeks. What do you guys think? Any other ideas, thoughts on how to stay motivated or does anyone want to do it with me? Should we make it a competition?
